ACE Group today announced the promotion of Gary Jack, Chief Operating
Officer, South Africa to the role of Country President as it continues
to grow its business in Africa.
In his new role, Gary will be responsible for managing the performance,
strategy and development of all ACE’s property and casualty and consumer
lines business in South Africa. He will remain based in ACE’s Sandton
office and will report to Giles Ward, Regional President, Eurasia and
Africa. Gary succeeds John Nienaber, who has decided to pursue
opportunities outside the company. The appointment is effective
immediately.
Gary has fifteen years of insurance industry experience, including seven
at ACE. Since 2012, as Chief Operating Officer, Gary has been
responsible for managing the underwriting performance of both the
property and casualty and accident and health businesses, as well as for
operations, sales and distribution and business development. He joined
ACE in South Africa in 2008 as Head of Accident and Health. Previously,
he worked at AIG South Africa as Regional Underwriting Manager, Africa.
Gary began his career at one of South Africa’s leading insurance
brokers, Alexander Forbes Financial Services.
